| As a response to Mladen Penev, I chose to respond to the exploding blood. To start with, I thought about the many ways that I could approach the way I do this. The easiest way that I could complete this was to physically splatter the paint over the top of a shirt and the background. I got the model to wear the shirt after I had splattered the paint over it. I stuck sheets of paper that I had also previously splattered to the white backdrop. I then got the model to sit centre of the composition so that there was an equal amount of splattering either side. Lastly, the model is holding up the book over his head so that you cannot see his face. Once the Photograph was taken, I had to edit this in Photoshop so that the background was all of the same colour. I used a background copy and chose the setting 'screen' which bleached out the background, however I then had to change the opacity and fill to half the percentage so that it didn't look too overexposed. This is just one way of producing these Photographs, therefore I would like to experiment more with the different techniques and meanings behind each Photograph. |
